Dalindeo “Kallio”-album released in Finland on 22nd of February

Our 3rd album “Kallio” will be released in Finland by KHY Suomen Musiikki-label on the 22nd of February 2013. Here’s what leader Valtteri Laurell Pöyhönen has to say about the Kallio district of Helsinki and the album:

“Kallio is the district of Helsinki where you can enjoy the brighter and the darker side of life. It’s a place where you will see people out on the streets at any time of the day. It’s lively, desperately beautiful, decadent and inspiring. 

Every capital city has its own Kallio: in Paris it’s Belleville, in Berlin it’s Neukölln and in Ouagadougou it’s Gounghin. For me, the most important and distinguishing character of these districts is a tolerance for all lifestyles and choices of life.

 With this album i have wanted to recreate the atmosphere of Kallio as i experience it in the language of jazz music. The music is also inspired by the fine tradition of Finnish popular music from the 1950′s and 60′s. 

 I hope you enjoy my sonic vision of Kallio and i hope it inspires you to experience the atmosphere for yourself, unless you already have. Kallio is not a place, it’s a state of mind.”
